Materials Specific Details

As a result of the 1965 Rolling Stones concerts in Invercargill, in which Mick Jagger famously referred to Invercargill as the "asshole of the World" after being pelted with tomatoes by the audience, it was rumoured that Mick Jagger had signed his name on a wall somewhere in the Civic Theatre.

This item is piece of wall from the Band Room (located under the stage) in the Civic Theatre. It was found by Mr. Meyers Newsome during alterations of the Civic Theatre's Basement, Music Practice rooms c.1998.

It is difficult to authenticate this item as being etched by Mick Jagger in 1965.
